PGI Visit The City of Flower, Tomohon

On Monday, 15th March 2010, PGI team together with Mr. Antony Lee from DYSAN GLOBAL PTE LTD Singapore, Phoenix’s Sole Agent for South East Asia, and Mr. James Kok, Vice President Far East, Phoenix Geophysics Limited – Canada had the opportunity to visit the City of Tomohon. Tomohon is a new city in the province of North Sulawesi, Indonesia.


TXU-30 BENEFITS DEEP TEM SURVEY
March - 2010
Phoenix’s high powered TXU-30 transmitter has provided a significant advantage in the ongoing study of HudBay Minerals’ deep, rich polymetallic ore body at Lalor Lake, Manitoba, Canada. The deposit, discovered in 2007, extends from approx. –500 m to –1500 m below surface and is still being explored at depth.


GRAND OPENING OF PHOENIX GEOSYSTEM INDONESIA

On Monday, 11th January 2010 (11-01-2010), Phoenix Geosystem Indonesia (PGI) proudly announced the opening of its new office which is located in Rasuna Office Park, Jakarta. The ceremony was being held at 11:01:10 sharp (which is a symbol of the opening date itself).


3D MT Survey In Uzbekistan
June - 2009
Uzbekneftegaz, the state-owned oil and gas company of Uzbekistan, carried out several large 3-D MT surveys during 2008, using a multichannel Phoenix MT system. These results were first reported at the First Uzbekistan Electroprospecting Conference in Bukhara last November. One 3-D MT survey, in a mountainous area in southern Uzbekistan.


NEW MTC-80 COIL IS SHORTER, LIGHTER
March - 2009
Phoenix has developed a new MT magnetic sensor, the MTC-80. The MTC-80 can replace the MTC-50 coil in many applications where lighter weight and smaller size are important factors, such as in surveys in mountainous areas.

A DAY IN A SURVEY CAMP

Camp life is usually rough, and the work is always grueling, but fun and beauty are always found too. Last fall a Phoenix crew carried out an AMT survey for uranium exploration in the Athabasca Basin of northwest Saskatchewan, Canada. JAPAN SURVEY
March - 2007

Phoenix and NMC personnel carried out a demonstration survey of the V8 wireless system east of Tokyo, in November 2006. The venue was the famous Kujukuri Coastal Plain, a low-resistivity beach terrace.



MANY ADVANTAGES TO NEW TXU-30 TRANSMITTER
October - 2006
The new TXU-30 multifunction geophysical transmitter has several advantages over previous-generation technology. It is compatible with any suitable motor generator, is very energy efficient and is 60% lighter; it also has a separate control panel with a 10-metre cable, permanent GPS synchronization and automated frequency sweep. Many units have been ordered, and deliveries to clients will begin soon.

Also presented at the above workshop was a paper describing geothermal work carried out in Indonesia, Magnetotelluric Investigation at the Bajawa.
The Phoenix production department and Phoenix engineering department are working hard to keep up with demand for firmware and software tasks for the system.

V8 CSAMT FUNCTION USED TO SURVEY RAILWAY TUNNEL ROUTE

Another longtime Phoenix client, The First Railways Survey and Design Institute of Lanzhou, PRC, has developed an advanced survey methodology and proprietary interpretation techniques for the very challenging geotechnical task of studying the planned routes for underground railway tunnels.
